10 Feb What’s happening in Year 6 – Week 6
Year 6 did absolutely brilliantly in their oracy debate this morning. The children were debating the statement: The Media has a Negative Impact on Young People. Our parents also came into school to see the debate and provide feedback to the children based on our school talk guidelines. They were so impressed with how much progress our children have made in projecting their voices, engaging an audience and thinking of incredible points with persuasive language. We are so proud of our Year 6 children and can’t wait to see how they progress in the second part of this academic year. We certainly have some budding politicians in this class!
In Science this half term, Year 6 have been learning more about our wonderful human bodies! We started the unit by exploring the impact that exercise had on our heart rates and compared these amongst boys and girls. We then went on to learn about the function of vital organs, including the heart and lungs. Most recently, the children carried out some research to find out about the blood that circulates around our bodies and the functions of the cells. Take a look at some of our amazing work from this half term!
