13 Dec What’s happening in Year 6 – Week 6
Year 6 have had a fantastic time this week, using our Diverse Britain lessons to explore a WW2 Role Model: Noor Inayat Khan. First, we explored what it means to be a role model. We wrote our own definitions and chose our own role model in our lives. Then, we predicted who Noor was based on her picture alone. We researched her life and created a fact file about her. We explored her training in the Special Operations Executive and even read some of the documents detailing her suitability for mission work. We acted in role as two SEO bosses, discussing whether Noor should be sent on a mission. After learning of Noor’s fate, we discussed words we believe described Noor. We then learned about her being rightfully awarded many medals for bravery posthumously. We designed our own medals to celebrate this fantastic role model’s life.
Take a look at some of our fabulous work!
