
20 Dec What’s happening in Year 6 – Week 8
As part of our Diverse Britain curriculum, this week the children have been exploring the life of British Role Models from the past and present. In Year 6, the children focused their learning on the life of Noor Inayat Khan, who was a British-Asian spy during the time of World War 2. Using primary and secondary sources of evidence, the children put their detective hats on to explore what Noor’s life was like. They discovered that Noor Khan was employed by the Special Executive Operations and sent to France, where she had to undergo specialist training to prepare for her mission. As the work that she did was so important in keeping the allied powers safe, Noor’s works and bravery have been commemorated in many ways.
