Year 1 pupils did a mindfulness activity using a raisin. They were encouraged to really observe the raisin, noticing the shape, colour, where the light hit it etc. Then they engaged their sense of smell. After that they placed the raisin on their tongue for a moment to feel the sensation. Finally they ate the raisin and described what it taste like. They were fully engaged and present throughout. Later on the class discussed how being mindful made them feel.
