What’s happening in Reception – Week 5

During Art Week in Reception, the children explored the work of Yinka Shonibare. We learned that he has heritage links to Nigeria in Africa and often uses colourful wax fabrics in his artwork to celebrate and share his cultural identity with the world. Inspired by his creations, the children used a variety of vibrant wax fabrics to design and make their own imaginative costumes. They thoroughly enjoyed experimenting with patterns, colours, and textures while expressing their creativity.
