What’s happening in Year 3 – Week 5

This week, Year 3 enjoyed a fascinating visit to a Buddhist temple where they learnt more about Buddhism and the life of Buddha. The children listened carefully to the story of Buddha’s journey and worked together to place pictures in the correct order to retell the events. They were then given the opportunity to visit the shrine, where they looked at some of the instruments used during chanting and learnt about their importance in Buddhist worship. To finish the visit, the children showed great patience and creativity as they made their own origami lotus flowers, a symbol that is important in Buddhism. The children represented the school brilliantly and showed respect and curiosity throughout the trip.
