23 Jun What’s happening in Year 6 – Week 3
This week in Geography, Year 6 explored the Tundra Biome, which can be found amongst the Polar Regions. The children explored the concepts of biomes last week, and learnt that a biome is an area that has similar characteristics, including its landscape, animals, plants and fertility of the soil. To extend their knowledge this week, the children were split into groups and researched the four areas below, before presenting their findings to the class:
- Permafrost and Plants in the Tundra
- General Facts about the Tundra
- Animals in the Tundra
- Characteristics of the Arctic and Alpine Tundra
